A few things for the number crunchers to consider:

1) As we move forward the internet is not going to be an optional item to have anymore than a TV is optional. There do exist people without TV but not too many - the pressure to be informed is too great.

2) @Home also owns @work. They only have 300 customers but each customer is worth at least $500/mo

3) @Home will start doing web hosting soon. This means every mom and pop shop that wants to put up a web site. I don't see that anywhere in your calculations. MINIMUM fee per month will be in the $50-$100 range. Providing they don't price the service out of the market, they could get a large amount of business from this.

On the worry side is whether Microsoft can force Comcast not to renew contract with At Home and somehow do the same with TCI and others.

Possible bright side? - the possibility that Microsoft will simply buy At Home to avoid problems.
