Dear Mex: "3 weeks" wanna place a bet on that? I spent most of my career dealing with the SEC. I dont think they can find the toilet paper in 3 weeks! Just my humble opinion. JDN

I received the following letter from IBM:

(It was sent out to all IBM Customers and Business Partners like myself)

Highlights:

Dear IBM Customer:

By now, I'm sure you've heard about the Year 2000 issue. It's real. It's significant. And it will certainly affect your enterprise.

The purpose of this letter is to help you as an IBM customer better understand this issue and what IBM can and cannot do to help you deal with it.
.
.
Technically, the problem exists at three levels:
-- hardware...
-- systems software...
-- application software...
.
.
The most important message I can leave you is "do not wait." The challenge is real and imminent. Take action now to understand the scope of your issue and implement an action plan. If IBM can be of assistance to you, please contact us.

Sincerely,
IBM Country General Manager
