What a gloomy end of the world idea. Before that end of the world arrives, you could make a lot of money from it. If you are so certain that oil prices will double in a short time, put your money on the nose and make a fortune. <In 5 years or less that price will easily double. The reality is simply more than people can accept - so they pretend it doesn't exist. In our whole lives we'll never see a better example of man's consistent self-delusion. > I think the opposite. There is the Flynn Effect turbocharging the process, along with specialisation and accumulating capital. Once a trans-USA highway is built, it doesn't have to be built again. Once fibre is strung around the ocean, the job's done and more will be needed but that's much easier and cheaper than the first build out. The same applies in all spheres. There's no shortage of oil. If there was the price would have gone from $10 to $300 a barrel, not just to $80 a barrel [over the last 10 years]. Oil was $40 a barrel thirty years ago. That increase hardly covers inflation [or doesn't]. I'm sorry to bring you bad news, but nearly everyone is going to die before 2100 and your worrisome "sustainability" whatever that means. <Before mankind adapts to a sustainable existence on this earth, many will die.>. My calculation is that People People will be in 2037. Then humans start dying faster than they are born with totals dropping until women decide to have at least replacement numbers. That could affect you personally. Me too. I have noticed my age increased and physiological systems declining. There is a vicious rumour that the end isn't rebirth and a fountain of youth. Are you still worrying about climate? That Doomster Theory has been cancelled. There are a few believers going down with the ship, but most people have moved on and accept that in fact the improved levels of CO2 in air and ocean are good for the environment because the chlorophyll crowd loves it. Mann Made Warming was proven to be Made by Mann and Phil Jones. Earth is not warmer due to CO2 produced by people. Mqurice
