On a leading-edge process ... That's very impressive. I can assure you that foundries at =< 40nm are not close to this.

With lower yield and the need for the foundry to make a profit as well, this is why AMD's die cost will always be significantly higher than Intel's. When you add in lower performance, endless delays and a roadmap nobody but an AMD fanboy believes, you have a formula for endless failure. The only bright spot is ATI.

I am wondering about a possible settlement with Nvidia where Intel fabs Nvidia's graphics processors. That would not be good news for AMD/ATI...

Just speculating...
