Terrific post, Sam. But Christie in New Jersey is actually worse than you picture. Because he's demonizing public sector unions, particularly the teachers union, including refusing to let their members participate in his version of rethinking public education, we are almost certain to make k-12 public education worse in the next several years. And, just as badly, do it in ways in which all sides take virtual swords to their opponents.

It's going to be quite ugly. And your California scenario, Prop 13 takes a while to show its genuinely ugly side, will come to Jersey, though its ugly side will show much sooner.

That is a pretty amusing statement since it was people like Newt Gingrich,........

So two wrongs make it okay? I find the use of the insulting word to be as ugly as anything republicans have done. From the left or the right when we stoop to this level, what can Americans ever expect from our politicians. Shame on anyone knowing what the word means for using it. ..........I suspect I used the word before understanding the meaning so I too may be guilty.
