Civil conversation doesn't involve trolling threads to post articles aimed at bugging other posters. I realize some people think that's civil- but it's not. When folks aim at John (for example) with ridiculously slanted articles about where he lives, that's not "civil". Of course people will deviously say "Oh my- I'm just posting news!"- but really, we all know what it is. Hypocritical deviousness.

To be fair, in this political climate, there isn't much civility left. The articles are mostly wildly slanted- but it's absolutely silly to think you can go around posting slanted articles, gloating articles, and downright false articles, and then claim the high ground. Civility isn't just about name calling, it's about being able to converse in a way that doesn't put people's backs up. I'd say that's just about impossible right now.

So clean hands? Not much, not here, and it's not about today- it's been this way since as long as I can remember. And it's why I often don't even bother to read certain posters. I know why they are here, and what they will post. It's all pretty obvious- at least to most of us.
