I think your assessment is right on and I used pretty much the same argument when I talked to Alan Embring about it. In addition to enhancing the value of their shares, Vical, and other companies as well, could save a lot of money in snail mail expenses if they just posted earnings reports and other information required by the SEC on a web site and sent shareholders who were web-connected an email alert that the information was there. Maybe if we all ganged up on IR about this issue we could get them to do something about it. You can reach Alan at (619) 453-9900.
