Ted Sorenson has died. He has already been missed. He was a true speech writer and adviser.

Kennedy Speechwriter Ted Sorenson Dies At Age 82

By: NY1 News

Ted Sorenson, the man who penned some of President John F. Kennedy's most famous lines has died.

Sorensen's wife said he died from complications resulting from a stroke last week. He was 82 years old.

Sorenson helped craft some of the president's more famous speeches, including his memorable inaugural address.

He described speechwriting within Kennedy's White House as highly collaborative.

He also helped Kennedy write his Pulitzer Prize-winning "Profiles in Courage" when JFK was still a Massachusetts senator.

In 1962, Sorensen helped draft a U.S. response to the Soviets during the Cuban Missile Crisis that many credited with helping to avoid a nuclear war.
