Sorry.. too much stuff to remember to recall a post you made 6 years ago.

But suffice it say that, although I enjoy the manner in which you put that phrase, it's not particularly a revelation to assert that in hard economic times asset values of discretionary items deflate due to "fire sales".

And you'll be surprised at how things you believe we "need" suddenly become "nice to haves" and "no longer necessary".

BTw, how do YOU classify absolute "needs"?

Shelter certainly qualifies as such, and it's deflating tremendously in the US, while in China they are building shelter that the average Chinese person cannot afford, so over 50 million apartment/homes sit empty.
