What a strange state.

Sacramento is a world away for most people and few pay attention to what's going on there. It's boring. Local newspapers and TV news rarely mention anything going on in Sacramento - it's car chases, the weather, traffic, sports, movies, style and what's the latest in clothes and electronics, who's driving what car, and where are you going this weekend.

Decisions are based on how you look, how you fit in with the in-crowd, who your friends are. Brown figured that out years ago and made friends with the Hollywood crowd and money people/unions. Meg stayed aloof and appeared as an outsider to most people. Brown's campaign made the most of making her appear as an outsider and she didn't help herself by stressing that it was her own money that was "buying" the election. JMHO
