"Referendum on Obama" depends on who interprets it. Obviously, Obama was not on the ballot. So the groups that put Obama in the WH did not bother to show up at the polls. All pollsters agree that his personal rating remains high which indicates to me that the chances "someone would throw a shoe at him is low."

Now on the issue of "taking the country back", I don't know if that was so the what was the Senator-elect from Florida saying that "we Republicans got a second chance."

Taking the country back would some meaning if both Sharon Angle and Jon Miller had won. Besides whatever the House passes, the Senate can reject and even if a bill passes through the Congress, Obama can veto it and if it fails to get a super majority, then we are back to square one, the situation is decided by politicians of various shades. and that is taking the country back?

The elections results are a tragedy for this country.
