NY is almost 8% plus city income tax. That is why Rush moved to Florida.

One of Stossel's shows featured the head of Paychex who sold his house in NY State and moved to Florida for just over 1/2 the year for the same reason. The Pols act surprised when they learn that people actually are willing to move to reduce their tax exposure.

Rich people who live in California or New York do their best to establish a residence in another State.

The same thing would have happened to us in WA state if that soak the rich income tax proposition would have passed here.

Fortunately the people of Washington hate taxes, but apparently still like Democrats. The keep giving the Democrats another chance to "fix" the state deficit without raising any taxes.

The only solution is to freeze state salaries, cut state employment and cut state worker benefits packages. But they won't do it. Now they won't have any choice.
