You make a very good point. The internet has truly empowered the individual. We all have voices now. And it helps us to refine our views and arguments.

The liberals have always had a voice with their special interested organizations, from unions to NAACP to NOW. Until the internet, conservatives didn't really have a strong voice for economic issues. And they were too busy doing mundane things like providing for their families. Liberals have always had a core group that has the luxury of spending a lot of time mucking up the system.....students, overpaid artsy fartsy types, the unemployed. Basically, people who aren't contributing and are actively trying to take more.

the good news is that conservatives tend to be the productive problem solvers of our society. Perhaps a little naive as to the insidious threat has been working in this country for 60 years, but we are awake now and the fight is on. With that in mind, I am optimistic. Earlier socialist revolutions never had a tool that worked to the benefit of the individual. Now we have a big stick with the internet.
