I bought an LED nightlight bulb about a year ago, advertised for about 20 trillion hours, and it lasted just a few weeks. But my more recent replacement is on all the time and is pushing past six months nearly continuous use.

I have a stockpile of CFLs to use up first. They are incredibly cheap right now, maybe a dollar each for the 60 watt equivalent.
