"With a House controlled by Rs - the filibuster does not matter for the next 2 years"

""It's the Senate they were talking about.""

Yes Allen I know we are talking about the Senate. Tell me, what difference does the filibuster make for the next two years? Any legislation that is enacted will have to be passed by the House - controlled by Republicans. The filibuster can be used to stop legislation by a minority. The Ds in the Senate are the majority. The president is a D with a veto pen.

Clearly, for the next two years it does not matter. Now - come 2013 the Ds may want that filibuster power as it is today.
