So where will a lower USD and stronger Asian currencies leave Australia ? Canada is tied to the USD because of the huge cross border trade, the Aussie Dollar is not.

The stronger Asian currencies get used to buy minerals FROM Aus, and also to buy mineral properties and mining stocks.

There could be a sort of focusing effect of various stronger currencies chasing Aussie (and Chilean, etc. ) minerals.
