I can talk about Issa since I follow him well being from California. His riches bank-rolled the campaign to unseat Gray Davis (Arnold's predecessor). It was later discovered he did so because he thought that his Republican colleagues would "look at his wealth and annoit him" to the vacated Governor's office. BUt instead, it looks like they were more impressed with Arnold's wealth coupled with his fame. And in their greed to capture that office (I wish they kept the welfare of California in mind instead), they opted for Arnold, who true to hus movie image destroyed everything, even the good. That pissed off Issa and he then chose to run for Congress to re[present his neighborhood. Reminds you of gang members who retreat to their neighborhood.
