Why should they have things in common on a personal level? the days of dudes drinking together and getting little done are over, I hope. but actually in the past Boehner has been decent at making deals, as has Pelosi. It depends on how hemmed in Boehner is by the tea party and how he really feels... are his dealing days over and he likes being the party of no to everything but tax cuts? if that's the case, doesn't matter who the dem is, unless you want someone like Shumer to be a repub-lite and pass everything through and land us back in Bushie days. Where did Pelosi come from? Do you know her life history and work history? again, I don't know what you have against her, but you are, imo, very much off base. it's a moot point anyways... she has the support of her party, and they are the ones who are electing the person to lead them. fortunately, enough of them don't have a problem with a woman, a highly intelligent and great politician woman, as the leader. and if some fools in the country like to make fun of San Francisco and think we should have someone from Ohio, like Boehner, they can just deal with their issues with coastal people on their own time. Rahm really really wanted to be the first Jewish speaker of the House, and if he were still there, this might be his chance, though the lost blue dogs would hurt his cause. Maybe he whispered this in your ear about Nancy? :) Pelosi doesn't do "beat and bash". seriously, you have her confused with someone else, or with the pundit talkers (who are white men who get nasty in one way or another about any powerful woman still)
