Hi Jim. Possibly you know this site, but some may not. I find this site very useful for keeping a list of such stocks.

dividendinvestor.com

Consecutive years of increases, yield, div. dates, 5 year dividend growth, and amounts, so you can see what the last raise was.

I add and delete stocks, bookmark, and it is always there when I go back.

Exceptions to every rule, but I don't figure any of these will continue to increase at these rates, so I like to look back at all five years using Yahoo or S+P reports.

For instance, the aforementioned SYY. Counting down the last five raises: 13.3 / 11.7% / 13.6% / 9% / 4.1% / Next months raise?

SYY five year CAGR now showing 10.83. My guess is that number goes to between 8.5% and 9.3% next month. Unless I am very pleasantly surprised.

With last years 4.1% raise and average yield of 3.7%, dividend return = 7.8%

PG .... 2.9% yld ... 11.59% DGR .. TR 14.49%
SYY ... 3.3% yld ... 10.83% DGR .. TR 14.13%

There are a few companies listed above that may not be able to keep their current dividend growth rates. LMT, MCD and SYY come to mind.

Having said that though, the minimum Total Return I'm looking for is 8%. The companies above give me some room for error.

If LMT and MCD were to lower their dividend growth rate to 10% for example, it would still be an acceptable holding for me.

SYY may fall below the 10% Total Return, but they have a long history of increasing dividends. I think their management team will continue with dividend growth as the economy improves.

I have some holdings I was unable to determine DGR on because of spinoffs, acquisitions or not a long enough history, yet they have acceptable yields. Those include:

CTL - 6.7% yld
FTR - 8.3% yld
EPB - 4.5% yld
MO -- 5.4% yld
VZ -- 5.7% yld
