As a matter of fact, Ali has debuted their latest Alladin V chip which has most of features of not-yet-released Intel BX chipset (for SLOT 2). The Alladin V chipset is 100Mhz bus speed with AGP for socket 7. They have sent out the samples for testing. The mess production on Alladin V, fabricated by TSMC using .35u, would start 1Q/98.

As to CPU, .25u K6 has been in (small quantity) production for a while. Therefore, the chipset and K6 to enable K6-300Mhz to run at 100Mhz bus speed exist for testing.

Thus, we might see K6-300Mhz with 100Mhz bus speed system on market early 1Q/97. Intel would need the 100Mhz bus speed BX chipset based SLOT 1 to compete with this new beast from AMD.
