"I've always been curious as to why any intelligent person would attempt to debate scientific facts such as gravity, evolution, plate tectonics, the boiling point of ammonia, or WHATEVER with those who subscribe to the myths and rituals of illiterate, bronze-age, nomadic goat-herders who practiced ancient Judaism, and are now retold via the modern cults and incarnations of that religion (Islam, Christianity, and modern Judaism)."

I love that sentence! You are, of course, quite right. But there are still at least three valid reasons to keep reason out on the field:

1). It is necessary for the survival of humankind

2). It is anti-aging and fun at the same time, and

3). Misguided people with fundamentally sound minds require some encouragement to think outside of their box and to escape the superstitious environment in which they have placed themselves or in which they have been placed. And human minds are valuable. Many of these converts to reason have done great works in the world.

Once thought by scientists to exist only in legends, rogue waves are now known to be a natural ocean phenomenon.

Science doesn't require anyone to be an atheist. Atheists just lie about that. And idiots believe them.

"If you argue with someone who actually BELIEVES in a magic, invisible god that lives in the sky (and worries about the important things: Like how often you masturbate, or if two guys kiss each other), you are fighting a losing battle - because he can make up the rules as he goes along; whereas you are bound by the rules of logic and physical evidence. Even if he acknowledges the physical evidence, he will often try to make it fit somehow with the odd constructs of whatever "holy" book he swears by, and his unique perception of the magic, invisible god. (Example; Christian, "young-earth" creationists who attempt to explain the fossil record in light of the biblical myth of Noah's flood.)"

I see you have TEN recs for this post already! Rational people pass by and let you know the world is still safe from the superstitious fanatics! When they dump reason they are only left with force. So in civilized/lawful society they are merely gnats...

Thank you for stopping by, buddy!
