It just adds a new tool to crash such systems. The only remarkable thing about this bug is that it crashes the processor instead of crashing the OS. (And if you think a non-privileged program is not able to crash Linux - sorry, you are wrong).

ISPs that allow users to compile and run any (malicious or not) on
Pentium machines running Linux are already at risk - yet, their users
do not seem to be deliberately crashing their systems regularly.
