i buy low and ride the roller coaster - and don't get off - and buy the dips and crashes - but, now think i should preserve assets. but, if i need money at some point i am not adverse to getting it from selling a few shares - it doesn't have to come from interest, dividends and annuities. but, if i want to live - you know go have a great place on the texas riviera, and have two places and travel, etc. when i sell a few shares to cover my high life the shares may be down a bit from their peak.

some think the west, the developed countries are in decline, the budget deficit is a serious problem, the trade deficit is a serious problem, the dems, gop, and/or voters are a serious problem, the dollar has tanked for 40 years and may do so for the foreseeable future, we don't enforce drug, trade, immigration and various other laws; we live beyond our means, we are ignorant; we can't compete; we are inefficient; we are not skilled in math, science and engineering - and the stock market could take another dive.
