Well, unfortunately, that's how science works. You may observe a phenomenon either occurring naturally or as a result of an experiment and then form a hypothesis. Or, you may form a hypothesis and verify it through experimentation. In the case of X-rays, as an example...and if memory serves, it was Rontgen who studied their effects after wondering why it was that certain types of electromagnetic waves would pass through flesh and paper, but not through bone or metal. He coined the term "X-rays" to describe them.

Again I ask, since you are implying that you've seen something you call a "ghost", could you at least offer us a physical description of one, tell us where, when and under what circumstances you saw this ghost, and how anyone else may also see one, or test for its existence.
