Couldn't agree with you more Walt. The key point here is that Canada is not a vast unexplored untended wilderness. Somebody has jurisdiction over all "moose pasture", - always. The native groups may not live in area, but if it is part of thier traditional hunting/trapping area, they will see you in court.

The answer to your question about how many holes are required is a good one. Some posters on this thread honestly believe that deposits can be proven in three weeks.

Hemlo was discovered after a long expensive drilling program that was just about shelved for non results.

Walt, you are a typical Canadian prospector, how many of your friends go out prospecting ? What are the odds of you and your friends finding a visible hard rock gold deposit right outside of Yellowknife ?
