If we bought into free market as God, I don't think we would have used the Fed to prevent recessions as we did. This constant manipulation of interest rates and money supply has affected the price discovery function of our money and has pushed money into speculative but unproductive investments. e.g. yen carry trade. I think it is more accurate to say we have embraced corporate socialism, or Fascism. This is evidenced by the fact that for the big boys we have socialized losses and privatized profits. Notice that despite the obvious fraud committed by the banksters that neither party seems to want to prosecute. lj
