The Daily Show being the clear choice.

<<Koan,

Fox News is a convenient punching bag, but is there any other news source whose word you would trust without question? Does MSNBC or CNN do a better job of providing an unbiased newscast free of agenda? I say no. Actually, when watching or listening or reading ANY media, caveat emptor.

First I do not trust anyone without question. Who I trust are those people who say things I know about and can confirm are true or not. That is how I judge them. I know most of what I hear on MSNBC is true and most of what I hear on FOX is not true. I know the subjects they are talking aobut.

Since you ask, let me say this. I am an old guy and have studied my whole life including being a teacher. I was also in politics for 30 years, one way or the other. I think I know my subject matter pretty well e.g. history and politics.

I watch FOx news for as long as I can stand it. Their ideas are so wrong it makes me cringe. And their illogical thinking is like listening to bad music it is so terrible. And the lies are breath taking.

Take Glenn Beck. He just says things that make no sense at all. He never went to college and was not even a good high school student ( and a recovered alcoholic who foudn religion-there is an old story) and the same is true of Limbaugh (his mother said he flunked out of the first two semesters o college and quit) and Hannity I think quit college?. Education matters. And Palin talks like a high school air head.

On MSNBC Rachel Maddow has a PHD from Oxford I think and all the rest are highly educated and their guests are highly educated. Best thinkers in the nation usually like Ezra Kine and Eugene robinson. dignified and very sophisticated thinkers.

Why anyone would waste their time not learning from the best thinkers is beside me?

ON FOX they talk like people with little education. And they are fear mongers of the worst kind. Take the mosque issue or their gay bashing. Both are clear matters of human bigotry.

And yes, MSNBC has the smartest commentators and guests and the most honest. Why I watch it, so I can learn something. I can learn nothing from Glenn Beck, Palin, or Hannity. Nothing at all.

I have no interest in watching people like Beck, Palin or Hannity that would prabably receive F's in any of my classes for their incorrect answers.

CNN, IMO is sort of just quite unsophisticated. I think they are doing it to try and appeal to the middle, but it just comes off as simplistic to me.

Think about it. The liberals only make up about 20% of the population, but look at what they did over history.

It was liberals like Plato and the ancient Greeks who discovered democracy, wrote the consitution e.g. jefferson, Madison, Franklin, Adams, etc were the intellectuals and liberals of the day. Lincoln was a liberal as were most of the anti slavery folks of the time.

Liberals also lead the fight to allow women the vote, end segregation, get social security, unions, and on and on.
