I find Suretrade to be a source of amusement... recently they announced $7.95 trades at their startup firm... one would think if they really wanted to compete with the E*TRADEs, Dateks, and Ameritrades of the world, they would undercut the lowest price more than 5 cents! :)

I believe that the outlook is rosy for E*TRADE and especially Ameritrade and Datek because small firms like Suretrade will be unable to compete on scales of reliability, service, and advertising, and large firms like Fidelity and Schwab will never be able to bring themselves to charge a low enough commission to be competitive...

The firms that were born on the Internet yet are already big enough to advertise heavily, these are the firms that will reap the greatest benefits of the tomorrow's Internet stock trading... and business will be brisk.
