You must remember that Mq was an early investor in a co. that really was spectacular early on. He had the wisdom to hang on to his early shares. I doubt that the cost basis of his core holdings exceeds $1.00. He may well be getting more in divvies from Q than his share cost.

I was in Q early, too, though not as early as Mq. Remember well a magnificent day in late 1999 when it went up 156 points after a crazy analyst said it was going to 1000. Should have sold then.

I made a very nice bundle in Q after having made a nice bundle in the Holy Trinity of the '90s, MSFT, INTC and CSCO.

Unfortunately, I rode the Q shares down post-1999. Made moolah but in retrospect should have taken advantage of the mania and sold immediately after the 156 point rise.

Lesson learned. Sell as the mania tops, even if you sell a bit early.

I am perched to make another bundle on gold. I hope to sell at the top of the mania and get into really hard assets, stuff that should last for millenia.

Then I become dust.
