That is true, but for whatever reason, it seems that in America we prefer air and cars. Maybe because oil is cheap, or better highways (not sure if this is the case). I am always suspicious when we feel the need to subsidize. There is a joke in Maryland about the subway. We could buy every user a new cadillac for what it cost to build. Ridership is far from great.
