Why don't you just study process development/engineering. A good start would
be to read Tauber and Wolf, "Silicon Processing for the VLSI Era" Volumes 1 -> 4

Then maybe, you could start to understand the technical issues.


Strange, I don't recall ever getting into a technical discussion or argument that hinged on my having expertise in process engineering/development.

Are you claiming that knowing about process development/engineering makes someone an expert in all fields? Your pal Elmer certainly pulls out the "who's qualified" card pretty gratuitously...
