I didn't see the interview, but he's wrong about teabgging, as a term. Teabagging is an excellent sobriquet. Even a smart man will be wrong once in a while. It's not a joke- it's a term of art.

Were you trying to go with an appeal to authority with that post?

Jon Stewart is more than just a comic, IMO. I am continually impressed by some of his material because he packages humor with interesting commentary and information and often shows his audience angles they may not ordinarily see. What makes him a treasure is that, while holding mostly liberal views, he has no problems going after both conservatives and liberals. While his show is a comedy show, at times it almost seems like the voice of reason. His rally on the mall was all about one of his key themes - that the negative acid tone on the right and the left from the Olbermans and Mark Levins of the world is not helpful at all. I applaud him for his public comments about Rachel's offensive language.

Anyone see Jon Stewert on Rachel Maddow show?

I watched the first fifteen or so minutes and was bored. Stewart was sick so his spontaneous lines displayed more than a little pain. Eyes drooped, etc.

I thought the point he was trying to defend, considering hate talk from the left and right the same thing, was more than a stretch. Rachel's point that you could find fifteen right wing senators saying that and only one left wing sign carrier, was correct. But Stewart is very quick, moved to talk about tone rather than numbers. Not a strong defense of his position but quick thinking.

I thought she went easy on him because he was not feeling well and because he is one of her media heroes.

We put it on the dvr so I may take another look later today.
