Paul,

However, as Intel develops a better understanding and (hopefully) a solution or workaround, these folks will disappear like the Black Plague.

You mean like you did with your when you made up a story that there was a bug in Cyrix MediaGX?

Joe

PS: In this case we are dealing with a real bug, not a product of your imagination (or wishful thinking)

Paul, RE: these folks will disappear like the Black Plague.
(Until the "next" bug is uncovered).

No need for us to disappear, there are
1. 18 Pentium II bugs that Intel says they will not fix
2. 7 hardware specifications that the Pentium II could not meet so the specification was unilaterally changed, also 2 FPU bugs in the same category.
3. 11 Pentium II bugs that Intel promises they'll fix...eventually
4. 3 bugs that were fixed (WOW)

One extremely serious bug (F0) that Intel is "investigating."

Petz

Paul, How are all the Intelabugs today? I'm waiting to jump into Intel but patiently waiting for a cheaper price. I think it goes lower. Techs unable to rally. Last time Intel said everything was ok the stock went up 50 points. Something must have changed.

Paul--
I thought I knew bugs. Then I saw "Starship Troopers." Now those were some mighty impressive bugs! They make the Pentium's bug look plenty trivial.
