>>McCain Feingold was a regulation of political free speech.

Hate crime legislation is an attempt to regulate thought.<<

McCain Feingold regulates campaign finance, not speech. Nobody is going to be arrested or fined for saying something that the law proscribes.

Likewise, nobody has been arrested for a hate crime if that person hasn't committed a crime. Taking a criminal's motive into consideration is well accepted legal practice. Hence the difference in sentences between those convicted of 1st or 2nd degree murder.

The food thing? Seems mostly a public safety thing, more than a moral issue. I don't think liberals stay up nights thinking of new ways to make people's diet decisions for them.

I think you are mixing up what restaurants can sell versus what you can eat.

The government is so far into your food chain in so many ways, I think you are ignoring the point. The government and its partners, the food and medical industry, already have you hooked on their scientifically developed products. Products designed to addict you, and as a profitable side effect make you very sick.

Do you think the typical american is consuming HFCS, industrial oils and salt in the volumes they are because they choose to? You have to work pretty damn hard to avoid this crap.
