The film does not support Alaska so much as it does Sarah Palin. Lots of self esteem here.

But Suma, you don't resent or think it's wrong for her to cash in on her celebrity status, do you? Isn't that what all celebrities do, and regardless of their political stripes?

I'm just wondering why this upsets you or seems wrong in some way.

Check the ratings on that show when it finally runs; I'd bet they won't be much.

This is one of the huge distortions of today's media lens; if something exists, the media can jump on it as hugely important, even if the vast majority of Americans never see it, think about it or get influenced by it.

It's very incestuous nowadays. I caught a snippet of Rachel Maddow interviewing Jon Stewart the other night and changed the channel again after a little while.

Reminded me of an old Steely Dan song:"Show business kids makin' movies 'bout themselves, you know they don't give a **** about anyone else...."

I know that Maddow and Stewart do care about others but more and more, the media is becoming obsessed with itself moreso than issues or viewers.

The media has become the message. And that's just twisted.
