There is a best, fittest assignment of codons to amino acids, but ..... "cannot be explained as an artifact of stereochemistry" is how Solon's Oxford Journal article put it.

There may be an affinity between at least one amino acid and some of the RNA codons that code for it .... however, there are so many potential codon combinations that could exist, its likely similar affinities could exist with other potential codon structures.
