Ever go thru an airport in Germany? They grab your crotch and feel your rectum. And do not put up with any bullshit. Last time I was in Germany and Italy, about a year ago, they were perfectly civil, with less intrusive security measures than I see all the time in the US. They looked at our passports, asked me a few questions about my trip, and then we walked through metal detectors. No member of my family was even patted down. This was in Frankfurt, one of the busiest airports in the world, and in Rome.
