Here is a white paper published by Spectra Logic, describing DLT vs competitors (Sony, Exabyte) products: spectralogic.com It acknowledges the current superiority of DLT over the others, but claims (or implies) that Sony has better defined upward migration path. This seems at least debatable, given other things I have heard and read, both in the last QNTM CC, and in other papers I have read but can't find immediately. Will try to post later. But for the record, QNTM claimed in the CC that they would have a 100gig DLT product by CY Q1, 1999.
