Re: "claims to have brought 4 countries to it's knees"

Don't know what 'brought to it's knees' really MEANS in the context of a country but, insofar has his famous one Billion dollar profit from the Pound Sterling all he did was BET ON FREE MARKETS WINNING over Statist bureaucrats who imagined that they were ABOVE the reach of Free Markets and could FIX THE EXCHANGE RATE of their currency ABOVE where the free market would put it (even though they were continuing to run huge trade imbalances).

A 'no kidding!' kind of bet.... :-)

All he was doing was betting that what the Free Markets said was CORRECT, and what the bureaucrats was saying was BUNK... and then putting his *own money* behind that very bet to back it up.

Ain't that the very essence of Capitalism?
