I am also thinking about the role the courts have play in this matter. By imposing its will on society the courts have caused it to change faster than it otherwise would have and without a replacement culture. I suspect that if changes were left to the legislative process this is less likely to occur.

I think this has been very destructive. Turning this concept over in my mind a lot recently.
