"Here we go......you're not winning the discussion so you introduce a strawman by comparing apples to kumquats."

Well, of course I disagree completely.

"The average college professor makes between $80K-100K ..."

The top hourly rate for line workers at a GM plant even today is 29 dollars, not including benefits, which should add around another 40 percent. So, that takes pay and benefits to $81,000, and that does not include higher skilled workers doing more than putting bumpers on Geos. It's the high end for the lowest paid hourly workers.

Oh, and if they get laid off, they get 90 percent of their salary (or did). Whoa!

"And their jobs (professors) are only half as hard as the guy's on the assembly line."

How would you know, and how do you measure "half as hard"? In terms of what - physical, emotional, forethought, social skills, years in preparation, ...

"Again, why are you so callous? Why do you want to screw the little guy?"

I'm not callous, and I don't want to "screw" anyone. I just think people need to be more responsible for themselves and not look to the government, or their union to provide a middle class lifestyle just for putting bumpers on Geos. Gee, if you were really fair, you would be campaigning for burger flippers to earn what GM workers received, because how much more demanding is it to flip burger as compared to placing bumpers?

Now I don't think you would be too happy to suddenly find yourself faced with a 50 dollar bill for buying you child a Happy Meal, but with your attitude, you should.

I'll let you have the last word, because I see this going no where.
