So perhaps the answer is to be sure no one no thing is too big to fail? I have some real sympathies for Germany here. Germany has learned their lesson with their experience of hyperinflation almost a 100 years ago.

So they are conservative with their government spending. They are rewarded for that with a strong economy and every one leans on them to bail out .........well just about every one. There is a lesson to be learned here and Germany has every right to make this a harsh lesson for the reckless. It's likely no more palatable to bail out Ireland and Greece than it is for us to bail out Texas savings and loans.
