True. Also irrelevant as I was not posting platitudes.

it is HARD to look at that chart and imagine that the Reagan/Bush/Bush II so-called 'plans' to 'reduce federal deficits' have been anything but an unmitigated FAILURE.

Which is part of the reason why I posted

You have horrible failure on one side, and even more horrible failure on the other (and often lack of even trying from both). Which is why I think Fallows partisan perspective on the issue is misguided.
