"In any event Dell should not have said that, it is crass, and Jobs should not be baited into that kind of response."

I agree as a civilized human being these things should not be done. However, Jobs needs to whip the Mac community into a religious ferver.

On the playground when there is a fight, you will see a huge crow of kids routing for their favorite. In this case, it was a Mac crowd. These people want to see blood spilled on the grass. They want to see Steve make Mike eat a bug for saying that! And they'll buy the stock and buy the machines to make that happen.

Steve Jobs wants to restart the jihad. It's the end of the cold war with MicroSoft and we need new enemies to fight. There is no peace dividend here. A contented Apple computer is a fat bird. And fat birds don't fly.

Apple is now lean and hungry. It's got the eye of the tiger. Others may say, "Stay out of the ring Apple! Dell's a wrecking machine! He'll moitalize ya! You're fighting a losing battle" Perhaps losing battles are the only one's worth fighting for.

Never stop fighting 'til the fightin's done! Til the last man is left standing!
