Only less dire if folks wake up and government actually does the right thing..

Even here in Canada we have this nonsense..

Our Ontario provincial government spent over 1 billion on what is called the eHealth program.. largely to consultants.. a huge amount the things that were expensed were quite scandalous..

So we end up with about 20 billion (provincial like state) deficit (California ? What me worry :o)

but the upshot is we have a provincial election coming in 9 months.. Conveniently a plan to rebate residential electric bills 10% was announced to start this January for 5 years.. It will cost 1 billion annually... now they (current ruling party) say that we can do this because we have knocked a billion off the deficit,.. Wasn't knocked off for very long LOL and what about the following four years... of course the Premier said this was nothing to do with the coming election right..

I think it is things like these that give TJ his unwavering faith in the folly of Western governments and the inevitability of their paths..... at least the North American variety ... faith is good... insurance is indispensable.. :O)
