This is good news and AMAT responded well to it. Overall I am positive on the markets and technology, though I prefer vertical tech companies like IBM over pure ones.

I think there is certainly some leg left in this market and AMAT is a good bet. However I worry about the pace of recovery. I do not expect a double-dip like some people; I expect slow growth with a couple of bumps along the way. The difficulty with AMAT is that cyclicals are not priced for a slow recovery. So at the first bump in the road may cause an overreaction...depending on your sentiment, be prepared to either ride out the bump or dump the shares and buy them back as soon as it stabilizes.
