Freddy, Thanks for the link to the Humanist Manifesto humanist.net

I have heard of it but have never read it before. What is your opinion of it? I believe that there is a need for a godless moral code but I'm not sure if I agree with this one. I am having trouble with article 14 and would like to see it more fully explained. I agree with most of the rest.

FOURTEENTH: The humanists are firmly convinced that existing acquisitive and profit-motivated society has shown itself to be inadequate and that a radical change in methods, controls, and motives must be instituted. A socialized and cooperative economic order must be established to the end that the equitable distri- bution of the means of life be possible. The goal of humanism is a free and universal society in which people voluntarily and intelligently cooperate for the common good. Humanists demand a shared life in a shared world.

Freddy, what is your point with the humanists' platform? What on earth does it have to do with anything? I hope you are not asserting that because one is a pagan or an atheist, one necessarily believes in any of this stuff.

It also sounds communalist, at the very least, seems to have been written in 1933 by thirty men (!) and certainly doesn't reflect my beliefs at all!!!!!
