Oh, I agree. It's just so funny. The media frequently reports on the fact that Hispanics and blacks are disporportionately unemployed and/or live below the poverty line. But when I refer to this statistically measured fact, I become a racist. Bizarre. It's similar to the point you were trying to make about liberals and hate speech and liberals wanting to legislate or punish people for what they think. Juan Williams expresses a fear about Muslim dressed airport passengers...a fear many people have probably also felt, and he loses his job with NPR. Helen Thomas blurts out a criticism of Israel....an observation plenty of people agree with and she's forced into retirement, lol. So much for individual expression.....sheesh.
