Hawk something really literally amazes me.. In Canada Variable rate mortgages are very popular.. tied to prime.. rate fluctuated monthly.. typically you can lock in to a fixed rate any time.. so folks take especially in declining rate environments.. Thing is when we 'lock in' our best bet is typically a 10 year term.. ie.. amortisation <> term.. and would need be renewed after term is up.. yet we did not implode ? nor do we have the benefit of mortgage deduction... Seems like some folks down your way are really really reckless.....
