I think that it's still true that 70% of the US economy is domestic and the rest from imports.

So I guess the Fed's plan is to trash the USD in order to augment the amount of domestically produced goods to the detriment of imports.

And of course, it would increase competitiveness of US goods in overseas markets.

It's what is supposed to happen when there is an extended trade deficit.

But I definitely agree.. we need productivity and technological innovations that drive the next leg of the global economy. It's going to be more competitive, but we all have the reality that more and more people are gaining sufficient means in China and India to actually become consumers.
